This course introduces the basic concepts and terminology of computer networking. Topics covered include communication hardware and software, data transmission, protocols, routing and addressing, OSI model, and network design. Students will gain hands-on experience with local-area networking. This course is the first course in a four-course series that leads towards certification as a CCNA (CISCO Certified Network Associate). Prerequisite/Co-requisite: IT 120.
