In this course the role of mythical and cultural elements will be examined in an attempt to better understand the conventions and cultures which comprise English literature from the Old English period through the 19th century. How these texts still figure in the 20th century as pieces of Western culture's collective consciousness will be examined. Pre-requisite: CA 101.
