This course is a survey of cellular organization and functions. The study of biological macromolecules, cell structure, energy pathways (photosynthesis and cellular respiration), cell division, genetics, and modern biotechnology are covered. This is the first half of a one-year biology course for science majors. Students must register for a lecture and laboratory section. Three Credits lecture; one Credit laboratory. Pre-requisite: SC 107 or permission of instructor.
