3.00 credits (3.00 lec) This course is an introduction to the history of Native Americans from the pre-Colombian period to the present, with special emphasis on Native Americans in Minnesota. Students will study the subject through oral history, personal history, memoirs, speeches and tribal history. The course will focus on the history of one reservation as well as international history, government policies and pan-Indian experiences. Fulfills MnTC Goal Areas 5 and 7.
