3.00 credits (3.00 lec) This course is designed for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare that allows them to assist physicians in assigning procedural and diagnostic codes in an outpatient setting. Students will gain a working knowledge of both procedural and diagnostic coding systems, as well as gain hands-on experience assigning codes utilizing the CPT and ICD 9-CM code books. Prerequisite: BTEC 1125.
