4.00 credits (2.00 lec/2.00 lab) This course continues with the advanced functions legal in Minnesota for a Registered Dental Assistant to perform. The course will focus on nutrition as it relates to oral health; oral hygiene instruction; mechanical polishing of the clinical crowns; application of fluoride; preclinical and clinical skills in the induction of nitrous oxide-oxygen inhalation analgesia and the application of pit-and-fissure sealants. Prerequisites: DNTA 1260 or approval from the program director.
