2.00 credits (1.00 lec/1.00 lab) This course is an introduction to information skills including an understanding of how information and knowledge are produced and organized within a societal context; how to organize a strategy for finding information; how to use print and electronic sources including the Internet to locate information; and how to evaluate information found. This course fulfills the information literacy graduation requirement for students seeking an A.A. degree. Fulfills MnTC Goal Area 2. For technical programs. Prerequisites: Placement into READ 1300 or completion of READ 0200 or ESOL 0052; placement into ENGL 1110 or completion of ENGL 0900 or ESOL 0051.
