4.00 credits (3.00 lec/1.00 lab) This course examines the principles, mechanisms, and implementation of network security and data protection with an emphasis on meeting business needs without compromising the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of data. Students will gain skills in creating security policies, doing business continuity and disaster recovery planning, and analyzing risk. They will also gain understanding of the 10 key cybersecurity CBK domains, including access control systems and methodology, cyberlaw, ethics, security models, cryptography, and operations security. Prerequisite: ITEC 2710.
