4.00 credits (3.00 lec/1.00 lab) This course provides students with the skills to plan for, install, configure and administer Windows network servers and Windows desktop clients. They will become familiar with the concepts and basic administration of a local area network and understand how various components work together to build a functioning network system. Additionally, students will learn how to plan for deployment, develop security strategies, work with group policies and user profiles, configure access control, configure resource sharing, manage hardware and media, use the registry, monitor performance, administer Active Directory, configure DNS & DHCP, optimize, and troubleshoot. Prerequisites: ITEC 1100, ITEC 1110, ITEC 1250 and ITEC 1425.
