4.00 credits (3.00 lec/1.00 lab) This course is an introduction to the open source MySQL relational database software. Students will install and configure the database software and a query tool in one or more operating system environments e.g. MS Windows, Linux. No prior database experience is necessary. They will learn to use the power of the MySQL dialect effectively and efficiently. Beyond developing queries and views, you will study issues of data security and integrity. Prerequisites: ITEC 1100 and ITEC 1110.
