3.00 credits (3.00 lec) This course is designed to provide learners with an in-depth review of the basic patrol functions for an officer. Topics include, but are not limited to, roles and duties of a patrol officer, squad car familiarization, principles of traffic enforcement, officer safety issues, radio communications, police ethics, and citizen contact and public relations. Open only to students admitted to the Professional Licensing program. Students will be required to take courses in a prescribed sequence.
