3.00 credits (3.00 lec) In this course, students will develop a knowledge of the Minnesota statutes relating to juveniles. They will explore the history and philosophies of the juvenile system, including theories related to causation and the effects of delinquency, as well as learn strategies for working with juveniles in the prevention of delinquency. Prerequisite: Placement into READ 1300 or completion of READ 0200 or ESOL 0052; placement into ENGL 1110 or completion of ENGL 0900 or ESOL 0051.
