3.00 credits (3.00 lec) This course provides the opportunity to learn about both traditional and contemporary Chinese healthcare in a broad, cultural context. Students will travel to China and explore today's nursing and medical care and Traditional Chinese Medicine in a classroom setting, while also directly observing current Chinese medical and nursing practice. They will have the chance to study and interact with Chinese nursing students in both academic and practice settings. In addition, they will be introduced to the basics of spoken Mandarin, Chinese culture and Chinese perspectives on the world. Prerequisite: Admission to Nursing program or permission of instructor.
