3.00 credits (3.00 lec) This course is an introduction to the works and ideas of Western and non-Western philosophers, which emphasizes how philosophical questions and their answers have been dealt with by different thinkers in different contexts. Students' development of familiarity with the ideas examined, as well as critical thinking and rhetorical skills essential for functioning effectively in philosophical argument, are the basis of evaluation. Fulfills MnTC Goal Area 6. Prerequisite: One course from the MnTC Goal Area 1.
