5.00 credits (5.00 lec) This course will complement and continue Heritage/ Intensive Spanish. It is also appropriate for students who have had previous training at the basic level. Students will focus on developing communicative competency in academic Spanish reading, writing, and speaking; expand their vocabulary and understand advanced grammatical structures and norms; and develop an understanding of the Liberian roots of U.S. Hispanic culture, human rights issues, the roles of Hispanic women in the culture, and contributions of Hispanics to American visual, oral, and written arts. Prerequisites: SPAN 1300 or instructor approval.
