3.00 credits (3.00 lec) This course is an exploration of how women worldwide respond humanistically, politically and artistically to violence perpetrated against women and children. Students will study imperialism, slavery, and sexual and domestic violence. They will critically analyze the nature of violence through the work of women artists, poets, novelists, painters, musicians and philosophers. Fulfills MnTC Goal Areas 6 and 9. Prerequisite: One course from the MnTC Goal Area 1.
