(45 lecture hours, 3 credits) Prepares teachers who work with limited English proficient students to learn strategies to develop English language learners' (ELLs') social and academic English and supportstheir transition to US culture and schools. This course is appropriate in a variety of program models: mainstream classrooms, self-contained ESL classrooms, and bilingual programs and may be adapted for use with preservice teachers.
