(30 lecture hours 90 lab hours 90 other hours, 8 credits) Prerequisite: Admission into professional nursing program. Introduces theories and skills basic to the role of the nurse as provider of care, manager of care and member of the nursing profession. Emphasis is placed on introduction to critical thinking and the nursing process. Students will demonstrate a beginning level of competence in providing therapeutic nursing care for clients with common health alterations across the health continuum. Added Fall 2006.
