Credits 4 (4 Lecture Hrs/Wk) - W ENG 254 covers the study of American Literature from 1850 to the present as expressed through various genres relative to a particular theme with a focus on eras, schools, and/or movements, and examines the historical underpinnings of the chosen theme(s). Prerequisite: None. However, because of the writing required in this class, it is recommended that students score at the WR 121 level on the college placement exam (CPT) or have completed WR 101 or WR 115. Proficiency Needed: Reading, Writing.
