Credits 3 (2 Lecture - 2 Lab Hrs/Wk) - W This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to help sustain life and minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness in the back country (defined as greater than one hour from definitive care.) Wilderness Medicine Society guidelines will dictate the course focus. Prerequisite: Student must possess a current First Aid and Adult CPR certification prior to admittance. MHCC courses HE252 or HPE285OL meet the necessary prerequisites. HE261 only meets the CPR component. Proficiency Needed: Reading, Writing.
