Nursing Process I provides an introduction to curricular concepts, role responsibilities and development of fundamental knowledge and nursing skills. The nursing process is introduced as the method for client care planning. Student behaviors include learning to identify human responses to physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual dimensions. Opportunities will be provided for the student to demonstrate fundamental nursing skills in the clinical and laboratory settings. Morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours may be scheduled for clinical experience. A medication calculation test will be given. Each student will be required to achieve a 90% on the calculation test to pass the course. Prerequisite: Departmental approval. Prerequisite or Corequisite: BIOL 2224 Anatomy & Physiology I, Math 1123 College Algebra. Fall. Lab Fee. Corequisite: NUR 1001 Critical Thinking Applications I.
