This course is taken during the last semester of the Cosmetology Program. It provides theoreti cal discussion and presentati ons relati ng to opening a salon and creati ng a business plan. Issues reviewed are writt en agreements, related regulati ons and laws, salon operati ons, policies, practi ces, personnel, compensati on, payroll deducti ons, telephone eti quett e, adverti sing, retail and salesmanship, client communicati on, public relati ons, insurance, and salon safety. Theoreti cal components of the departmental courses are reviewed in preparati on for the writt en porti on of the State Board Exam. This is a two credit hour course.
