This course covers constructi on standards and specifi c types of building materials used in commercial, industrial, and private constructi on projects. These materials include aggregates, asphalt, asphalt concrete, Portland cement, Portland cement concrete, masonry, iron, metal, and wood. These materials are widely used in constructi on and represent those over which fi eld people in the industry have the most control. Shaping these materials to fi nal size, protecti ng them from the elements, and fi tti ng them together are accomplished in the fi eld to a greater extent than with most other materials. This is a three credit hour class.
