Students in this course will develop knowledge of diverse assessment approaches, including observati onal skills. The student will use appropriate on-going documentati on and report informati on to families and professionals. Appropriate early childhood assessment is responsive to cultural and linguisti c diff erence. It includes informati on from multi ple sources, e.g. observati ons, checklists, interviews, and both formal and informal standardized measures in diverse setti ngs for making educati onal decisions about children. This is a three credit hour course.
