This course uti lizes a body systems approach to introduce fundamentals of nursing with a focus on the nursing process, assessment, communicati on, physiological, psychological (mental health), social, spiritual, and cultural considerati ons when identi fying client health care needs. The student will have the opportunity to develop plans of care based on age and developmentally appropriate needs of the client. This course will allow the student to demonstrate legal, ethical, safe, and eff ecti ve nursing care while focusing on the needs of individuals, families, and groups of clients. This course includes a laboratory component with campus laboratory hours (which may include simulati on) and/or clinical learning experiences at local health care agencies. This is a nine credit hour course. Co-requisite: PC 113
