This course will provide students with the basics of Health Physics in order to meet the purposes and requirements of a Radiati on Work Permit (RWP). The major mechanisms of energy transfer for alpha parti culate radiati on, neutron classifi cati on as related to kineti c energy, ALARA philosophy; exposure rates, airborne radioacti vity sampling, and other related topics will be discussed during this class. This is a three credit hour course. (This does not count as a lab science course.)
