This course is designed to enhance the basic police offi cer's level of fi tness, as well as to develop an understanding of wellness as it relates to police work and to develop an appreciati on for a conditi oned state of well-being. This class will include demonstrati on, discussion, and parti cipati on. This class will incorporate periodic fi tness assessments, strength, cardiovascular, and fl exibility training. Additi onally, concepts in nutriti on and safety will be covered. The student will be required to perform sati sfactorily on the fi nal fi tness tests and obstacle/agility courses for state certi fi cati on as a law enforcement offi cer. This is a two credit hour course. Co-requisite: Enrollment in the Law Enforcement Academy
