This course is designed to provide basic job entry-level skills and knowledge in automoti ve technology. Areas presented include fundamentals of automoti ve technology, basic theory, safety, tools, precision measurements, electrical / electronics, principles of component operati ons, and laboratory exercises on operati ng components and simulated components of the automobile. Technical informati on is given in the classroom and then it is applied in the laboratory/shop. The course syllabus meets the objecti ves of NMJC course, AT 124 Electronics. Prerequisite: A strong interest in the fi eld as an occupati onal choice, a good att endance history and a mature atti tude indicati ng an ability to assume responsibility for the safety of himself, his coworkers, and the motoring public.
