This course includes various codes and standards that are used in welding and fabricati on. Major codes and standards are API, ASME, and AWS. API is the standard for all pipe used by companies in the oil industry; ASME coding includes the use of vessels, pressure, and structural needs for the power plants, nuclear plants, and water power dams; and AWS includes D-11, the study of structural welding. Covers the building of oil platf orms, off shore platf orms and rigs, railroads, automobiles, and welding in the agriculture industry. This is a three credit hour course. Prerequisites: WE 114
