This course will cover the history of the United States military from its colonial beginnings through the Vietnam War. This period of history has become a watershed of change for our nati on. Coverage will include a survey of important batt les of the major wars in U.S. History, as well as an introducti on of the interrelati onships that exist between the U.S. military and the politi cal, economic, and social forces that conti nue to shape our nati on. Emphasis will be placed upon America_s role in the world. This is a three credit hour course. Prerequisites and or co-requisites recommended: HI 113 and HI 123
