This course will introduce the student to the proper management of hazardous material encountered in the automoti ve environment. The student will gain an understanding of the Hazard Communicati on Regulati on. Students will learn how to uti lize a Material Safety Data Sheet in order to identi fy, handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials. They will be introduced to basic fi rst aid and response to spills or exposure in their work environment. Use of the proper personal protecti ve equipment will be covered. Other safety topics including right-to-know laws will be covered. This is a one credit hour course.
