This course develops the skills and concepts of arithmeti c for students needing to strengthen their mathemati cal background. The course includes problem solving using whole numbers, fracti ons, decimals, percents, and variables. Coverage will also emphasize equati on solving, fi nding areas and volumes, and the conversion of measures. This course will be taught using lecture, cooperati ve learning, demonstrati ons, supervised problem solving, and computer problem sets. This course does not fulfi ll the mathemati cs requirements for any of the associate degrees. This is a three credit hour course.
