Develops nursing skills for the basic needs of individuals and introduces related theory. Includes assessment, personal care, activity/rest, sterile technique, wound care, ostomy care, catheterization, oxygen administration, infection control, suctioning, and medication administration. Provides supervised learning experiences in college nursing laboratories and/or cooperating agencies. Pre- or co-requisites: BIO 141, PSY 230; Co-requisites: NUR 104, NUR 135, HLT 105. Laboratory 6 hours per week. Total 6 hours per week.
