PREREQUISITE: As required by program. This course explores the many different types of exceptionalities found in young children. Topics include speech, language, hearing, and visual impairments; gifted andtalented children; mental retardation; emotion, behavioral, and neurological handicaps. Upon completion, students should be able to identify appropriate strategies for working with young exceptional children. properties, synthesis, and typical reactions for aliphatic, alicyclic, and aromatic compounds with special emphasis on reactions mechanisms, spectroscopy, and stereochemistry. Laboratory is required and will include the synthesis and confirmation of representative organic compounds with emphasis on basic techniques.
