Basic Study Skills is designed to teach students the necessary skills of "how to study." This course will offer a metacognitiveapproach that sequentially develops students' awareness of their thought processes and will guide them through changes in their study strategies, attitudes, and habits. Skills are then immediately transferable, through guided application, to students' texts in other classes. Students will also demonstrate strategies in vocabulary building, memory retention, test-taking skills, and library research. To complete BSS 090, the student must finish the course with a minimum grade of "C" or 70%.
