Java Programming Fundamentals is a two course programming curriculum designed to teach the basics of objectoriented programming and the Java programming language. As with other Academy courses, the "soft skill" focused onin this course will be a collection of work from the previous courses that are relevant for each students' interest in possible career paths. Given the unique location of each Academy site, special interest should be taken in any local area business they may use Oracle or need some of the programming skills that Academy students have to offer. Students will be able to write stand-alone applications with the Java programming language. Develop and deploy Java Applets. Create portfolio of student work for use in college admissions and/or job placement. After completion of this course you will be prepared to sit for the Advanced Placement Computer Science exam.
