This course describes and examines psychosocial issues, human responses to illness and theories related to the development of mental health and illnesses. Utilizing the therapeutic communication process, students will learn to assist patients as they adapt to alterations in health. Psycho-pharmacological and other therapeutic interventions are considered in the nursing care of patients/clients experiencing mental health concerns. Prerequisites: Admission to AD RN program.
