(Fulfills MNTC Areas: 5, 7) This course is a critical evaluation of the social construction of gender and the resulting inequality. The relationship of sex and gender, past and present theories of difference, and social movements will be analyzed. Particular emphasis is placed on developing an awareness of the effect of traditional and changing gender roles in understanding social relationships and related phenomena. Prerequisites: None
