Description:
The student will study five different subject areas as well as review and prepare for their FAA written test. First we will cover aircraft drawings where the student will learn to use drawings, blueprints (including drawing orthographic projections), schematics, graphs, charts and pictorial representations. The student will sketch simulated repairs and alterations. Study fluid lines and fittings where after the lecture portion of this subject the student will fabricate, install and test both rigid and flexible lines. Learn about corrosion and the proper way to prevent, clean, treat and control corrosion. The fourth area of study in this class will be materials and process where the student will be covering such areas as proper use of hand tools, hardware, heat treatment, and non-destructive testing. The student will get to perform such operations asMag-Particle, eddie current, dye penetrate, and ultra sound. The last subject area of study is ground operations and servicing. Here the students will learn the proper procedures for fueling, moving, securing aircraft as well as shop safety. The final part of this class is the review portion for the FAA test for those students that have completed both general classes. There will be approximately 96 contact lecture hours and 4 shop/lab hours. Prerequisites: AVTG 00 or AVTG 0 9.
