A course enabling students who now own or intend to buy a pleasure horse to handle and care for the animal in the western tradition; how to handle a western saddle, how to select appropriate equipment, how to evaluate a pleasure horse before purchasing, and how to provide for the general well-being of the animal. 2 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory.
