3 credits, Fall This course provides the knowledge and skills to work effectively with children and their families to help combat the prevalence of childhood obesity, which plays a major role in how they grow, develop and learn. Participants will explore various ways of integrating nutritional health related activities into the daily routine. Special emphasis will be placed on the inclusion of music and movement, which will connect to the total curriculum in developmentally appropriate ways. The development needs of individual children will be taken into consideration, along with the cultural context.
