Prerequisite(s): None. American Sign Language includes principles,methods and techniques for communicating with deaf individuals who sign. Also includes a brief history of sign, introduction to deaf culture, development of receptive and expressive sign skills, manual alphabet, numbers and sign vocabulary. Class is conducted primarily without voice. 4 hours lecture, 1 hour laboratory.
