Students will study a sampling of literature written in the Gothic tradition, including British and American literature from 1800 to the present. Emphasis will be on reading the works; discussing them; and analyzing style, content, and theme. We will also examine how the themes of Gothic literature have been "resurrected" in popularculture today (film, fashion, music). WINTER
