(6 Credits) Beginning course for high school students to gain an understanding of the profession which includes introduction to cosmetology theory, facials, shampoo, rinses, and scalp treatments. Students will receive orientation to the cosmetology profession including ethics and safety. Emphasis on the theory, anatomy, and physiology for facials, massage, makeup applications, hair analysis, plus disorders of hair and scalp. Basic techniques relating to preparation, procedure, products, implements for shampooing, rinses, scalp treatments, facials and makeup.
