(4 Credits) Prerequisite: CIS 101 Out-of-class computer work required. An in-depth study of microprocessors and microcomputers. Topics covered include the selection, confi guration, and installation of hardware components; data representation; and systems soft ware. Th e basics of network design, cabling, and workstation confi guration for a network are addressed. Th e course covers hardware issues such as drivers, I/O addresses, IRQs, and Plug and Play technology involved in installing and confi guring Microsoft Operating Systems. Course covers CompTIA A+ and MCSE certifi cation topics.
