(3 Credits) This course will broaden the student's understanding of autistic spectrum disorders. The focus will be on young children from infancy to eight years of age. The neurological impact on communication, sensory processing, play skills, social skills, and behavioral components will be addressed. Discussion on a variety of educational strategies will enhance the student's understanding of the environmental impact within the home, school and playground.
