(3 credits) Students are required to have a graphing calculator for this course. The TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus is recommended. Prerequisites: ENG 05 if required by individual student's placement; a placement recommendation for MTH 180 and three years of high school mathematics including Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry or equivalent (MTH 03, MTH 04). Covers systems of linear equations, matrices, linear programming, counting techniques, probability theory, game theory, and the mathematics of finance. Lecture 3 hours per week.
