A laboratory-based course, specifically designed for elementary teachers. The objectives of this course are to aid students to develop a meaningful and functional understanding of key physical science concepts and their interrelations; to provide students with an open-ended problem-solving environment that facilitates insight into the nature of science as an intellectual activity; to explore alternative concepts of scientific phenomena; to help students develop more positive attitudes toward science and to increase their confidence in their ability to do science.
