Allowable Times for Credit: 1.00 Maximum Credits Allowed: ACH: 84.00-87.60 Lab: 3.00- Credits: 3.00- Contact Hrs: 5.00- Lecture: 2.00- Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in MATH 101 and READ 100 or satisfactory test scores. A laboratory-based course, specifically designed for elementary teachers. The objectives of this course are to aid students to develop a meaningful and functional understanding of key physical science concepts and their interrelations; to provide students with an open-ended problem-solving environment that facilitates insight into the nature of science as an intellectual activity; to explore alternative concepts of scientific phenomena; to help students develop more positive attitudes toward science and to increase their confidence in their ability to do science.
