Allowable Times for Credit: 1.00 Maximum Credits Allowed: ACH: 48.00- Lab: 4.00- Credits: 4.00- Contact Hrs: 4.00- Lecture: 0.00- Minimum grade of C in HEED 180, HIMS 101, HIMS 201, HIMS 202,HIMS 205, HIMS 210, HIMS 220, HIMS 230, HIMS 250 and MEDA 221. Prerequisite: In this course, the student, with assistance from the Coordinator of Work-Based Learning, will be placed in a hospital setting to apply the principles that have been learned in previous and current health information technology courses. The student will be on site for 48 clock hours per credit hour, and will be supervised and evaluated under the direction of the Program Director and the participating agency. This class will provide the student with practical application of health information management processes including medical/legal release of medical information, patient registration, and patient accounts.
