Allowable Times for Credit: 1.00 Maximum Credits Allowed: ACH: 103.20- Lab: 4.00- Credits: 4.00- Contact Hrs: 6.00- Lecture: 2.00- Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in DIEC 230. This course provides an in-depth examination of temperature control issues and the chemistry, function, and application of die and plunger lubricants. The student will also develop an understanding of Bernoulli's equations, the effects of shot sleeve size effect the power of the die cast machine, and gate design theory. Students in this course will learn to estimate manufacturing costs and machine charge rates, based on capital asset values, labor and material costs, and overhead. [Semesters Offered: Variable]
